If you want to know what Hollywood’s top actresses will wear on the red carpet next awards season, just look at the pictures from Marchesa’s S/S 2013 collection, which designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig presented at New York City’s Grand Central Station on Sept. 12. The duo had early celebrity support after founding their label in 2004 (Sienna Miller, Demi Moore and Eva Longoria are fans), but in recent years, it seems that not a single major awards show has happened without the appearance of a Marchesa gown. Rihanna wore a cut-out number to the 2009 American Music Awards; Sandra Bullock collected her 2010 Best Actress Oscar in a gold dress; Lea Michele chose an elaborate silver gown for the 2012 Golden Globes.

The label’s red carpet popularity has made Marchesa’s New York Fashion Week show one of the most anticipated each season; this year’s front row guests included Kanye West and girlfriend Kim Kardashian, Tyra Banks, Kelly Osbourne and Stacy Keibler (George Clooney’s girlfriend). Noticeably absent, however, was one of their biggest fans: Blake Lively, who just wore a custom Marchesa creation for her walk down the aisle with actor Ryan Reynolds last weekend in South Carolina (her bridesmaids also wore custom-made Marchesa dresses).

Backstage at their show, the designers were tight-lipped. “It was amazing,” Craig said of working with Lively. “She’s a good friend, and we were absolutely honored and thrilled to have been asked.” Chapman would only add: “It was a very, very beautiful wedding dress.”

But if their Spring show is any indication, Lively’s wedding gown was embellished and decadent, with plenty of pearls, crystals and fringe all layered on top of each other. Inspired by 1960s India—and The Beatles!—Marchesa’s spring collection came in fuchsias, teals and (wedding) whites, adorned with beautiful jewels and lace. Above, a few images from the show, which will hopefully tide you over until images of Lively’s dress become available.
