It’s been a good week for Patek Philippe & Co. The luxury watchmaking company set a world record for the most expensive watch-only timepiece on Monday when its “J.B. Champion Platinum Observatory Chronometer” sold at auction for just under $4 million at Geneva’s Geneva Important Watch Auction. The Swiss company also manufactured Eric Clapton’s “ultra rare” platinum wristwatch that sold for $3.6 million at the same auction.

Then, on Thursday, Patek Philippe & Co. and Tiffany & Co. announced two brand-new watches—one men’s and one ladies’—to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the watchmaker’s boutique at Tiffany’s flagship 5th Avenue store. Each watch is double-signed by Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co. and will be sold in a limited quantities exclusively through Tiffany’s Patek Philippe Boutique and other authorized Tiffany & Co. locations nationwide.

Patek Philippe opened its Tiffany’s boutique, its first in the U.S., in 2008. But the companies’ relationship goes back much further than that; the founders of each company shook hands in 1851 to make an agreement to promote each others’ dedication to craftsmanship. Patek Philippe was founded in Geneva by Polish watchmaker Antoni Patek in 1839. Charles Lewis Tiffany’s eponymous brand began as a fine goods emporium in New York City in 1837.

The women’s watch is called the Gondolo. Art Deco-inspired, with Roman numerals and a curved 18-karat white gold and diamond case, the piece comes in two color schemes: a matte blue dial with white numerals with a dark blue satin strap, or a white mother-of-pearl dial with gold numerals with a cream satin strap.

The new Men’s Annual Calendar watch is a sturdy, masculine design that was created expressly for the boutique’s anniversary. Its 18-karat white gold case surrounds a black face that features day, date, and month, moon phases and 24-hour indication on a black matte black alligator strap. Prices for each watch are available upon request.
