Calling Michelle Obama a 'fashion icon' is an insult to the ones who truly are..... Michelle Obama is so many other icon for the women of America but never a 'fashion icon'. But the way she is forcibly projected as one by the media on a constant basis with some of her unflattering photos only shows that this is a cruel joke played by the ladies (white) in the media. I wish the first lady is smart enough to realize that and soon get herself a proper stylist and end this visual torture!

She doesn't light a candle to Barbara Bush or Betty Ford. Sorry, but Michelle just doesn't have class. You can tell just by what she is wearing and how she is standing there. Ladyshiin hit the nail on the head when she referred to the policies of this administration. Lastly, referring to this president's policies of abortion & same-sex marriage. Our Lord isn't happy with the way America is going - which is in the wrong direction. We desperately need to return to His Word & His policies!

@MarcusTaylor @NanaYoung Marcus, intelligence has nothing to do with class. Believe me, you can have degrees hanging all over the place, but you also need common sense. On another note Marcus, why are Michelle & Barry's personal documents under lock & key? Lastly, why is he using someone else's SS #? Before closing sir, color has nothing to do with it!
@MarcusTaylor @NanaYoung This isn't a question of body image or fashion. The job of the first lady is not to set an example of fashion for the American public (Something we should leave to celebrity, perhaps?) but to use her intelligence and education to, as I reiterated previously to influence policy and contribute to our society.
You can mock the other women who sit in the room and can't display pert breasts and taut biceps, but if that is all that Mrs. Obama has to contribute to our country she is a very sad example of a first lady. Personally, I'm far more impressed with a woman who can utilize her $100,000 ivy league degree and make a difference as well. Though I disagree with many of the politics of the Kennedy administration, I have enough insight to be able to admit that not only was Jackie Kennedy the fashionista that these ridiculous magazines desire to discuss so much she had a strong understanding of her importance in the public eye, something that went so far past the clothing she wore on her back. Jackie also undertook the sort of initiatives that will make her an icon for much longer much longer that Mrs. Obama.
Also, @NanaYoung I think they should consider Nancy Reagan as well, that was a woman of true, unflappable class.
And please, don't twist this in a matter of race @MarcusTaylor . This country is filled with many people who disapprove of the family who currently presides in the WH and it has nothing to do with the color of their skin, but their awful politics. I for one, fear what my country will be like after another four years of this liberal administration and can only hope that once this is over the GOP will present a candidate with the fervor to whip this country back into shape, save our military, protect our constitutional rights, and stop the policy of subsidizing the people who are too lazy to work with my hard-earned tax dollars.

Michelle Obama--A fashion icon? I don't think I've heard anything so laughable. This is a woman who is supposed to represent the free world, represent what every woman in America can aspire to, and calling her a supposed "fashion icon" makes a joke of her place in our government. She should be a leader in policy initiatives, not in getting to the Neiman Marcus sale early.
Instead of looking at what she is wearing, maybe we *really* should look past what is skin deep, and start questioning the policies, and s beliefs of the administration.
