If there’s room in today’s world for men to wear dresses, then late-night television can carve out a niche for André Leon Talley. The Vogue contributing editor has signed a deal to develop a talk show with production company Electus, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

Talley described the venture, which is likely geared for a cable network, as one that “blends Dick Cavett’s approach to eloquence and sophistication with unparalleled access into my international fashion lifestyle. A forum where unique stories will be told and inspirations shared.”

It’s about time readers of “Life With André,” his long-running Vogue column, had a glimpse into his fabulous lifestyle. An overwhelming presence in both personality and stature (he’s a towering 6’6), Talley will certainly be entertaining, and his everyday brushes with famous friends and other fashion icons pretty much guarantee good gossip.

This isn’t Talley’s first endeavor outside the print world. He served as a judge for four cycles of Tyra Banks’ never-ending reality competition America’s Next Top Model, where he ladled up hearty helpings of sass and nuggets of fashion advice learned from years of observation. For example: “There’s nothing worse than a woman with a camel toe at a cocktail party because then your eyes look at that and you don’t want to talk to her. You throw your hair back and you keep walking.”

Talley also films shorts for a web series on Vogue.com called “Mondays With André,” is a fashion correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and recently joined Numéro Russia, the soon-to-be-launched Russian outpost of international fashion magazine Numéro, as editor-at-large.

Talley’s on-screen credits prove he has the mettle to rival the current late-night lineup. Letterman and Leno might want to upgrade their closets.
