From her “Like a Virgin” wedding dress at the 1981 MTV Video Music Awards to her golden, crowned goddess look at Super Bowl XLVI, Madonna never fails to make headlines with her fashion. Now, a new traveling show offers a glimpse into some of the performer’s lesser known styles. Madonna: A Transformational Exhibition (through May 12) features never-before-seen work of photographers Richard Corman and George DuBose, curated by Rock Paper Photo, and shows the pop icon in full 80′s attire. Sponsored by W Hotels Worldwide and Glacéau VitaminWater in partnership with Rock Paper Photo, the tour will be on view at several W locations in New York City today, before traveling through Europe and Asia. Herewith, highlights from the exhibition.

I have been a fan of Madonna since I was a teenager. Her music has touched me unlike any other artist. I love seeing her photos because they are snapshots of her outer beauty but I know how beautiful she is on the inside. I couldn't possible post all her songs that I have grown up with and related to my own life but songs like Borderline, Angel, Crazy For You, Open Your Heart, Papa Don't Preach, Live To Tell, Who's That Girl, Like A Prayer, Oh Father, Promise To Try, This Used To Be My Playground, Rain, Words, In This Life, Why's it So Hard, I'll Remember, Secret, Take A Bow, Bedtime Story, Sanctuary, You'll see, You Must Love Me, Ray Of Light, Nothing Really Matters, Drowned World (Substitute For Love), Frozen, Skin, Has To Be, Little Star, Mer Girl, The Power of Goodbye, I Deserve It, Paradise (Not For Me), What It Feels Like For a Girl, Nothing Fails, Intervention, Nobody Knows Me, X-Static Process, Get Together, Forbidden Love 2005, Miles away, Devil Wouldn't Recognize You, Love Spent, Masterpiece, I'm addicted, Falling Free. Her music has made me cry, laugh, feel and think. Her songs are thought provoking and intelligent but they also have a tremendous amount of heart. There is such a realness in her voice that I find few people have had. I am so proud to be her fan. Thank You Time for this article. : )
Madonna is proof that you don't need a good voice or the most meaningful songs to make it in music. She has even outlasted many who sang much better than her.
Another interesting news about Madonna as she accused of stealing an American designer's signature style. http://tinyurl.com/budywm2
Rare? These all just look like rejects from the contact sheets of some pretty famous photo shoots, with a few crappy snapshots mixed in... Madonna was one of the most overexposed artists of the '80s... I had enough of her shtick back then... I'll pass...
