This relative newcomer to the magazine world, as an insert into the Wall Street Journal, has always been daring and artistic in its cover choices. Its September issue, which features newcomer Drake Burnette clad in stunning white lace Dolce & Gabbana, is no exception to the envelope-pushing. Inside, in a 17-page spread called “Lush Life,” the model and actress is somber, clad in black and white, fur and lace. While we love the surprise of an unknown face on the cover of a September issue, this appearance is sure to propel her career: Burnette, who in her late 20s is considered by many a late-bloomer, made her modeling debut in the Céline pre-fall show in January 2013, and has made waves since then working on campaigns such as Topshop Fall/Winter 2013. She also recently starred in an indie movie called “Marfa Girl.”
