The fast food Mexican chain best known for Doritos Locos tacos and a talking Chihuahua is doing some personalized outreach to…second-tier models? The company has sent Chrissy Teigen, SI Swimsuit model and fiancée to John Legend, a handwritten note professing its admiration for her along with gold rings that have “taco” and “bell” written in script and a Taco Bell gift card. Other recipients of this thoughtful albeit head-scratching gift include: Acacia Brinley, an aspiring model; Jessica Lu, model and actress on MTV’s Awkward; Alexa Losey, a Youtube beauty guru; Leah Cecil, Miss California 2012; and Kirsten Storms, a soap opera actress. The gesture is especially puzzling because models and actresses are not the first group of people you could picture scarfing down Gorditas during a 3 a.m. junk food run. However, Taco Bell must have an astute social media team, because all of these ladies have professed their love for the chain’s cheap nachos and burritos on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. The guilty pleasure appeal of Taco Bell clearly knows no boundaries. Is a Fashion Week sponsorship next in the making?
What does a man that has everything get for his 65th birthday? If you’re Prince Charles, you guest-edit a British weekly that celebrates the bucolic lifestyle and culture of the country’s farmland communities. But of course. The Prince of Wales, who celebrates his birthday on Nov. 14, plans to edit the Nov. 13 issue of Country Life that will feature an exclusive interview with His Royal Highness. (PHOTOS: Through Don Draper’s Eyes: A Tour of the Time-Life Building of the ’60s) “Since its launch in 1897, Country Life has been privileged to be given access to the royal family at times of national celebrations. However, this is the first time that a member of the royal family has edited the magazine or any other publication,” said Mark Hedges, the magazine’s editor. “The Prince of Wales has been a great supporter of Country Life and its ideals over many decades, and has always taken a close interest in what we do, so we’re delighted, at last, to be able to call on his wise input and creativity.” Prince Charles is expected to meet with the editorial board to discuss his duties, but since the magazine, the self-anointed “Home of Premium Property,” generally concerns the joys of rural landowners and their homes, Charles likely has some thoughts to spare on those matters. In the same way that Judd Apatow lent his eye and ear for comedic talent to Vanity Fair‘s December comedy issue, so too can Charles bless Country Life with his innate genteel manner. He and his wife Camilla live part-time in Highgrove House, an estate in the Cotswolds that seems tailor-made for a Country Life cover or feature. He could also share thoughts on his favorite pastimes — the ones that aren’t weather forecasting or deejaying — such as watercolor painting and, until an injury, polo. If his personal interests prove too inconsequential, he can always shed light on his manifold humanitarian pursuits. The Prince of Wales is a longtime champion of organic farming, climate-change research and historical preservation —

While the fashion world has been eagerly eying Gucci’s spring/summer campaign, the Italian fashion giant has been busy cooking up a new campaign off the catwalk. The luxury brand has teamed up with Beyoncé and Salma Hayek (wife of François-Henri Pinault, chairman Gucci’s parent company PPR) to establish a new ‘movement’ for female empowerment: Chime for Change, launched at the TEDxWomen luncheon in California on Thursday. (MORE With a Family Like This: The House of Gucci) Chime for Change hopes to “convene, unite and strengthen voices speaking out for girls and women” and will divide its focus into three areas: education, health and justice. The campaign hopes to focus on the stories of already inspirational figures working towards these goals. Hayek presented a short film at the luncheon that she narrates, with music by Beyoncé and clips featuring Malala Yousafzai and Hillary Clinton. The Mexican-American star will also head up a film unit creating ten short films about inspirational female figures. Gucci’s move to align itself with a social cause is not unusual for the fashion house, which has previously worked with UNICEF. The launch comes at a time when women’s rights have dominated news stories worldwide, from the Delhi gang rape in India, to the issue of girls education in Pakistan and abortion rights in the U.S. In a statement for the campaign, Pinault said, “I am convinced that across the planet, women are at the heart of the equilibrium of our communities. There is a need to transform words into action and find new ways to enbable and empower girls and women.” (MORE: A Brief History of Women’s Protests) The movement already boasts an impressive cast: its advisory board is comprised of serious figures from the world of politics and celebrity, including the likes of Meryl Streep, Archbiship Desmond Tutu, Mexican journalist and human rights activist Lydia Cacho and former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. With a manifesto that makes lofty statements about female empowerment, the group is hoping to do more than just create awareness. It’s teamed up with

The fashion industry is no stranger to philanthropy, but a new venture is giving consumers an unusual way to look good and do good. PACT, a mission-driven clothing company, has teamed up with supermarket chain Whole Foods’ Whole Kids Foundation and fundraising platform Indiegogo to crowdsource 100 urban gardens across the country. When backers donate money—from $25 to $250—to help fund a garden, they’ll receive a gift from PACT’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection of organic undies, knitted knee socks, cabbage-blossom cotton leggings and more, which are inspired by the colors and history of urban farming. The project will “provide increased access to healthy food and empower adults and children to actively experience how food is grown—from seed to plate,” according to a press release. (MORE: Victoria’s Secret Could Make “Survivor” Bras For Post-Mastectomy Women) To help kids better understand healthy eating and especially, where their food comes from, the gardens will be planted in schools nationwide, from Inglewood, Calif. to Durham, N.C. (find a garden near you here). Kids will learn the value of sustainable gardening, and backers get some super-soft organic apparel. “Gardening helps create a tangible experience that connects parents and kids to real food and helps inspires healthier eating habits,” said Nona Evans, executive director for the Whole Kids Foundation. Each potential garden has its own Indiegogo campaign page, with a goal of $2,500 to make it a reality and a dedicated “PACTivist” to advocate for the project. Though the PACT urban garden apparel line will also be available at select retailers and Whole Foods locations, Feb. 28 marks the last day to snag some new undies while doing some good for your city.
Congratulations are in order for renaissance woman Beyoncé, who, according to GQ, is the sexiest woman of the 21st century. She’ll grace the cover of the magazine’s February issue—sans pants—to make it official. Now, it should be noted that 87 years of this century still remain, so it’s sort of presumptuous to declare anybody the anything of the century. But then again, she’s Beyoncé, and she’s pretty unstoppable, so it’s probably fine. Plus, 2012 was quite a year for Bey. The year started, of course, when she gave birth to her daughter, Blue Ivy, on Jan. 7. (She appeared just a few months later at the 2012 Met Gala, working hard to earn her “sexiest woman” title in barely-there Givenchy.) (MORE: Obama’s Gift to Foreign Leaders: Beyonce) The star also got political, netting $4 million for Barack Obama in a September fundraiser she co-hosted with husband Jay-Z. And in a move that really set the masses atwitter, she joined Tumblr in 2012 as well, providing fans with visual insight into her life and career. And as 2013 begins to take shape, it looks like Beyoncé’s momentum is only growing stronger. She’s set to sing the national anthem at President Obama’s inauguration on Jan. 21, recently joined Instagram, is planning a new Destiny’s Child track with former bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and will direct an HBO documentary (about herself). Perhaps she’ll draw from her official temperature-controlled Beyoncé archive, which contains nearly every photo, video, interview and diary entry she’s ever done, for the latter? Now that Bey’s earned herself the title of sexiest woman of the century, some might guess that she’d get complacent and just take a breather. But as we all know, she’s a survivor, she’s not gon’ give up, she’s not gon’ stop, she’s just gon’ work harder.
According to a new survey of research by the University of Wisconsin for CareerCast.com, seamstresses, jewelers and hairstylists are among the least stressed-out in the workforce. The jobs website used metrics such as travel, deadlines, physical demands, industry outlook, and risk to one’s life to determine which occupations were the least stress-inducing. Unlike the most tense jobs (enlisted army personnel, firefighter and commercial airline pilot were among the top 5), these have notably lower safety risks and involve a higher level of artistic creativity. CareerCast.com also noted that they tend to have fewer physical demands than most other careers and a more peaceful work environment, albeit a lower median salary. (MORE: 11 Groundbreaking Fashion Magazine Covers) Though university professor was ranked the least stressful job (largely due to tenure track job stability and lack of responsibility for others’ health), seamstresses, jewelers and hairstylists’ respective second, fourth and eighth place rankings were the result of a variety of factors, such as these: -Seamstresses and tailors require strong attention to detail for each job, but can also work creatively and consistently see the fruits of their labor. Working directly with clients allows them to personalize designs to satisfy their needs, allowing for positive feedback. Most also work in a peaceful atmosphere, which allows them to focus (median salary: $25,850) -Jewelers work privately in workshops and behind the scenes in jewelry stores or publicly as entrepreneurs with their own outlets. Both avenues have opportunities to buy and sell precious metals, in addition to rewarding creative and technical aspects. High-profile jewelers like Harry Winston draw in millions of dollars a year and can collaborate with a range of companies or clients for highly stimulating work (median salary: $35,170) -Hairstylists work in largely fast-paced environments, with high customer turnover that allows for constant human interaction and diversity of tasks. According to CareerCast.com, the field promotes creativity, and despite low salaries, it is funded largely on often generous gratuities. There is also significant room for growth: stylists like Vidal Sassoon and Paul Mitchell have built lucrative brands based off of their

The new monthly delivery subscription service Le Parcel gives women a reason to celebrate getting their period (aside from it meaning good health and avoidance of an unwanted pregnancy). For $15 a month, subscribers receive a box of up to 30 products, chocolate and a surprise gift at the right time of the month every month—in essence, a hybrid of subscription luxury services like Birchbox and prescription deliveries like 1-800 contacts, with an extra serving of TLC. Users can state their expected cycle start date each month so that their pads or tampons (selected from brands including Playtex, Tampax, Kotex, and Always) arrive in a timely fashion and so they can avoid “awkward stares at the checkout stand.” All it’s missing is a box of Midol and some heating pads.
Women around the globe already envy Kate for her style, her poise and her husband. Now it seems, they wish they had her face as well. The Duchess’ nose is the most requested celebrity facial feature among women in the U.K., according to data released by the Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group, which shows that demands for her well-proportioned nose have tripled in the past year. A spokesman for the group told the Daily Mail, “People are choosing celebrities who are sophisticated and naturally beautiful.” (MORE: Princess Photographer: Kate Middleton Goes Behind the Camera) Other popular requests include Cheryl Cole’s dimples and Rosie Huntington-Whitley’s eyes. On the men’s side, gents are lining up for features like Robert Pattinson’s jaw and Zac Efron’s eyes. The honor of the most requested male nose goes to Middleton’s fellow Brit Jude Law. Meanwhile, the Telegraph reports that Kate will remain in Britain until after the birth of her baby and a period of maternity leave. With her due date hovering around next summer, she is unlikely to travel abroad until 2014. So Britain’s celebrity followers will have even more time to admire her lovely face at home.
Why Pippa Middleton Would (and Would Not) Make a Good ‘Today’ Correspondent

Is Pippa Middleton butting her way onto American television screens? According to the U.K.’s Sunday Mirror, the Today show may offer Prince William’s pregnant wife’s younger sister (because really, that is who she is), $600,000 to make 20 appearances beginning next year. The position would require her to cover quintessentially British events like the Chelsea Flower Show and the opening of Buckingham Palace. Although the proposal is of dubious certainty, the woman in the form-fitting, cowl-neck bridesmaid dress that launched a thousand copies and surgeries would be a dynamic choice for Today, which has recently ended its 16-year streak as the most watched network morning show. Certainly, her appeal could be a lightning rod for the ratings. Pippa, already a well-known British socialite (Tatler Magazine named her the “Number 1 Society Singleton” in 2008), burst onto the international scene immediately after the royal wedding as a sharp-dressed, well-rounded (ahem), vivacious socialite who seemed unbothered to make her first global splash as a second fiddle. In fact, her instant popularity was swiftly translated into tabloid covers speculating on her love life (wealthy men, several of them), her activities (running, partying), and everything in between. She was included in this year’s TIME 100 and published a party planning tome. Her successes were measured, though; a photograph of her pointing a fake gun at the paparazzi caused a stir and her book, Celebrate, was released to poor reviews and sales despite a major media blitz. All told, her reputation as a fun-loving trendsetter has hardly waned, meaning a Today show gig (if authentic) would enhance her transatlantic charm. But should (or could) she do it? Let’s examine the possibilities. (MORE: Oscar de la Renta Doubles Down: Should Anna Wintour be Secretary of State?) 1. The Today show has a history of hiring fresh-faced relatives of the political elite—Jenna Bush Hager is currently a correspondent, and she just announced that she’s pregnant. Will Pippa step in during her maternity leave? It might just be the perfect test run. 2. Just like Hager, Pippa is connected to a very prominent pregnancy. Her covering the
