
“Every designer who’s worth their weight in gold has addressed this issue,” Talley says of the LBD. That certainly includes Alexander McQueen. His beautifully dark duck-feather dress was part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition “Savage Beauty,” a morbid celebration of McQueen following his death in 2010. The statuesque piece is majestic and haunting—and a perfect representation of the genius of McQueen.
