The recently rebuilt Teatro La Fenice during a concert.
Vivaldi is a Venetian icon, though he is hardly the only composer you can hear in the city. There are nightly concerts in churches and small halls around Venice, many of which have programs of arias ranging from “The Barber of Seville” to “Don Giovanni,” for little more than $25 a ticket. The city tourist office will make bookings, and you can wander into some concerts without reserving ahead.
