Alan, the beloved Dachshund who was the mascot of U.K. magazine Tatler, died Monday after a tragic accident with the revolving door at Vogue House, where the offices of Tatler, British Vogue and British GQ are located in London. The incident occurred as an intern was taking Alan out for a walk, and even the London Fire brigade arrived on scene to help, but to no avail.
Though the exact details of Alan’s death are unclear, early Tweets that he’d been decapitated by the revolving door are false. This morning, Jennifer George, the editorial assistant who owned the celebrity pup, tweeted the last photo she took of Alan, along with a note that he was “so awesome & so very loved.”
