Launched in 2011, posh online retailer Moda Operandi began as an avenue for shoppers to snap up designer collections days after they appeared on fashion week runways. Over the last two years, though, the company has branched out, sometimes offering one-off red carpet numbers or curating original collections all together. Their latest sale, which began today, honors this year’s Costume Institute exhibition at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, of which Moda Operandi is a sponsor. Called “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” the exhibition focuses on punk’s influence on high fashion; Moda Operandi’s collection offers more than 100 vintage and original pieces by designers such as Rodarte, Prabal Gurung and Thom Brown that pay homage to punk. Here’s a look at some of the most inspired pieces.
