Nearly two years after their nuptials unleashed loads of outlandish Royal Wedding paraphernalia, Prince William and the Duchess are again giving retailers a boost with the forthcoming arrival of their first child. Here’s a look at some of the swag for sale.
Shhh! Don’t Wake the Royal Baby children’s book by Martha Mumford and illustrated by Ada Grey
His or her birth date hasn’t even been confirmed, but the soon-to-be latest addition to the royal household already has its own children’s book—and the story promises to be a “laugh-out-loud celebration of the new addition.” The cover also gives a cheeky nod to the Queen’s London Olympics stunt, wherein a daredevil dressed as her parachuted into the stadium during the opening ceremony. Bloomsbury, $10.60
Biscuiteers’ limited-edition Royal Baby tin
The makers are marketing this as “a tin fit for the new baby princes and princesses in your life”—and presumably ones that have a very sweet tooth. It features traditional silver spoons, baby rattles and champagne all in biscuit form. But with 16 or more in each tin, that works out to nearly $4 a biscuit. Which is probably considered a bargain only to royalty like Will and Kate. $60
Grenadier Guard sleep suits
Though it’s not official royal baby memorabilia, this is probably the closest you’ll get before the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first child. The royal gift shops sell a variety of baby and children’s items, including this Guardsman sleep suit that gives parents a chance to dress their little one up as an iconic palace guard. $19
Royal baby sick bags by designer Lydia Leith
Featuring an illustration of Will and Kate holding their little bundle of joy under the title “Well Brought Up,” this sick bag is a must for those that find all this talk of monarchy nauseating. Designer Lydia Leith is somewhat of a specialist when it comes to designing sick bags – she produced some for the Royal Wedding and also made a royal morning sickness sick bag when it was announced that Kate was pregnant. $4.55
Dragons of Walton Street baby suite
The children’s interior design company Dragons of Walton Street helped create a bespoke baby suite at the London hotel Grosvenor House in Park Lane. Prices start from $3,500 a night for those interested in finding out what the life of a royal baby is like—Princes William and Harry both slept in Dragons of Walton Street nurseries. $3,500/night and up
