Dominican-born designer Oscar de la Renta has dressed everyone from A-list celebrities to First Ladies. This season, he turns his attention to a more diminutive customer with an exuberant children’s runway show for New York Fashion Week. De la Renta has been dipping his toes into designing childrenswear over the past few years; he created a small spring 2012 line and has been steadily expanding his offerings each season. Moderately priced within the luxury children’s market (about $150-300 for girls’ dresses), de la Renta’s collection highlighted his signature style in classic shapes, along with ear-to-ear smiles from the adorable models.
