After a decadelong, $500 million-plus overhaul to modernize its halls, Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum, located in the city’s Museumplein cultural center, will reopen in full this April. The postrenovation space introduces a stand-alone pavilion for Asian art as well a new main hall designed to be a starting point for visitors to take in the 80 revamped galleries of photography, painting, fashion and more, which explore 800 years of Dutch art from the Middle Ages to modernity, including Rembrandt’s iconic The Night Watch.
