The Chinese model had gone pro less than a year before breaking barriers for herself and Asian models in 2005. That year, she became the first Asian cover model with her appearance on French Vogue‘s October 2005 issue. Sharing the space with Gemma Ward was the ideal follow-up to her pose for the debut issue of Chinese Vogue a month prior. She has since followed up with numerous ad campaigns including Louis Vuitton and Roberto Cavalli, as well as several subsequent covers for Chinese Vogue and TIME’s Fall 2006 issue of Style & Design.
