For George H.W. Bush’s inauguration in 1989, Barbara Bush was drawn to a bold blue gown with a velvet bodice, and she wasn’t alone. The dress was a piece from designer Arnold Scaasi’s line that he had already sold to three other elites. Barbara went on the be called “America’s most glamorous grandmother.”
