Last October one fashion critic wrote that Louboutin’s shoes “revel in borderline vulgarity” with their fur, leather, straps and plumage. The Carnaval, made of light pink satin crepe, and featuring a burst of flowers, fits that mold. Louboutin isn’t fazed. “If vulgarity means being slightly over-the-top and slightly over sexy and overly cleavaged, then absolutely,” he says. “They’re definitely not shoes for proper ladies having tea. I don’t have a problem with that.”
