Louboutin once worked for famed French shoe designer Roger Vivier, who in the 1970s made a thigh-high camouflage boot in honor of all those suffering through the Vietnam War. Inspired by the disconnect between fashion and conflict, Louboutin created CNN Girl, a boot with several pockets. It’s intended for a reporter stranded in a war zone. “She lost everything but she still has her boots,” he says, laughing. “Thank God she has her boots on. In her boots she can have her phone, a place to put her papers, and her pen.” Louboutin has re-invented the boot as Sea.nn Girl for his twentieth anniversary capsule collection.
