When an object or piece of art sparks an idea, Louboutin avoids looking at it again during the design process. “I much prefer that you think of something, it goes in your mind, and then your mind filters it,” he says. “It’s better to keep your mind’s selection than the reality.” He designed the Puck boot — made of goatskin with layers of natural leather — after remembering a record album from his childhood. It had the foot of a goat on the front cover.
