This market in central Delhi, a five-minute walk from Connaught Place, is an eclectic riot of haggling and commerce. Miniature hookahs, wall hangings, handmade notebooks, wine glass sets, Hindu statuary and the ubiquitous Taj Mahal fridge magnets: it’s all here. There’s plenty of fashion too, from chunky Indian jewelry to t-shirts with quirky Hindi messages and a million things in cotton. Look carefully for export surplus designer clothes (you might find a genuine Gucci shrug for $1 if you’re lucky). And don’t forget to bargain—it’s always expected, even when the starting price is laughably low in the first place.
