With so many events drawing focus to England this year, from the Diamond Jubilee and Charles Dickens’ Centennial to the summer Olympics in London, it only makes sense that classic British brand Burberry would be one of the year’s most searched companies. But in September, the company issued a profit warning that same-store sales were flat in the ten weeks leading to Sep. 8—the company’s worst figures since the financial crisis began in 2008—meaning that the brand’s appearance on this list in 2013 is hardly guaranteed.
